Grove Street, a quartet of local Monadnock area musicians, presents a unique Mariposa concert featuring original music by composer Tom Febonio, who happens to be an old college mate of Chaz Beaulieu, Grove Street's flutist. Chaz is joined and supported by Eric Blackmer on guitar, David Duhon on cello and Lisa Murray on piano. Chaz and Eric have been making music together for over 25 years, David joined about 5 years ago and Lisa more recently. As a group, they put on a good show featuring a wide range of exceptional music. However, each in their own right is a fixture in the local music scene.

Grove Street recently produced a successful concert at Bass Hall (MCHC) featuring the music of Irish composer Turlough O' Carolan (1670-1738) and celebrating the release of their second CD, The Harp Unstrung, a tribute to O'Carolan. This upcoming concert similarly focuses on the works of a single composer but moves into more modern music, and besides being beautiful music, it offers an opportunity to discover the brilliance of this living composer. We will have CDs for sale and a signup sheet for when our next CD, featuring Febonio music, is released.

Please join us at 7:00 O'Clock on June 14th upstairs at the Mariposa to celebrate Febonio's impressive body of original music which ranges from folk tunes written for flute and whistle to very elaborate groupings of pieces, to fully formed classical works of chamber music, which are exquisite.

This concert is free to the public, but donations are requested.

Proceeds will be split between supporting the museum and the musicians. For information please call 603 924 4555. The program is expected to run about an hour to an hour and a quarter. We suggest arriving early as the prime seating is limited. By signing up you will help us to prepare to accommodate those planning to attend.

Watch this space!

Upstairs at the Mariposa is a wonderful performance and meeting space.

Going forward we plan to present music and other events that conform with our History and Culture mission a couple or three times a month.
