Blackstone River Theater in Cumberland, RI
The Blackstone River Theatre (BRT), a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit cultural arts center where the music, dance and folk arts traditions of the Blackstone River Valley come to life, celebrated its ninth anniversary in September, 2009. With an emphasis on the ethnic groups that settled in the Blackstone Valley, BRT presents weekly world and roots music concerts, monthly dances and children's events, as well as special events on a year-round basis.
See link to Pendragon - Music in the Celtic Tradition. New England has long had a rich tradition of Celtic-inspired music. Having celebrated their 26th anniversary in 2009, Pendragon has embraced that tradition and created a timeless sound of its own, performing roots music with an unmistakable contemporary edge. Pendragon's music celebrates the lives and lore of generations of New Englanders who brought traditions from Ireland, Scotland, French Canada and other distant shores to the banks of the Blackstone River. Pendragon performed at Mariposa on April 17, 2010.
