INTERNATIONAL INSTRUMENT COLLECTION
Just a few of the many musical instruments available to pick up and play
Instruments are distibuted on every floor, but the lion's share reside here. Pick them up and play. Many bamboo, gong and xylophone examples from different countries. Try your hand at a limberjack from Appalachia, too. Make your own symphony and tape it (tapes and recorder available at the desk, $5), or sign up for our Science of Sound Tour. Enjoy the hardcover book and CD-Rom instrument guide created by MC2 High School in Keene. There's also a recorded music collection and CD player.
CHURCH BELL TOWER
View of the Bell Tower from directly below
Ask about the church bell tower above you and its connection to the Unitarian Church across the way —it's a great 4th of July tale from the 1840's.

VIRTUAL TRIP TO CHINA
Chinese Display
The far corner of the gallery turns into a trip to China with a twist: instead of a case, we have vintage Chinese furniture containing items to touch: abacus, clothing to try on, and so on.
CHARLOTTE'S AQUARIUM - OCEAN SALTWATER DISPLAY
Charlotte's Aquarium
To the left of China is the new ocean saltwater display, "Charlotte's Aquarium," donated for our second anniversary. When we held focus groups with elementary students to plan the Museum, all wanted fish — and here they are with a plus — sea anemones, corals, and a beautiful, peaceful place to admire nature's wonders. The best this side of the Boston Aquarium, set up and maintained for us by Andy of Paul's Pet & Aquarium Center in Keene. We hope you enjoy our fish meditation.

When children are raised with respect and curiosity towards other cultures, the world will know more peace and less war.
