  • These beads from Africa are called ornate beads. They come in a wide selection of colors and are made from seashells, sea glass, twigs, bones, eggshells, stone, and ivory.

  • Beads like these are made in Kenya, Africa.

  • The Samburu tribes use these beads for ceremonies, such as Emuratare. Emuratare is a ceremony in which a boy becomes promoted to a warrior.

  • The beads represent important information like age, rank, wealth and social status in Samburu culture.
