The Gazelle

  • The gazelle is a slender, graceful antelope. The gazelle eats grass, bushes, and other plants. The gazelle lives in the tall grasses of Eastern Africa.

  • The Maasai tribe hunts the gazelle. The Maasai live in Kenya. The Maasai are hunter-gatherers.Thompson Gazelle skin

  • The Maasai use the gazelle skin in masks, shields, drums, clothing, shelters, food, and in rituals. The Maasai believed that the gazelle can help bring fertility to the land. The gazelle skin drums are used in ceremonies to honor the gods.

  • The main predator of the gazelle is the Jackel.
