    Masai Fly Whisk

Nate

  •     My artifact was made and used by the Masai people who live in Kenya. The Luo people also used it. The Luo tribe is the tribe that Barrack Obama’s ancestors came from.Masai Fly Whisk

  •     The Masai people used it as a symbol of power mainly, but it was also used to whisk away flies. It is still used today.

  •     This artifact can tell us two things about the Masai people. One, they believed in a system of power so there would be order in their society. Secondly, they had flies on their land.

  •     Most of the questions I wanted to know were answered except for two things. One is, did any other tribes except the Masai and Luo people use it? Also, did it have any religious purpose?Click here to learn more
