  • The Massai Necklace is a colorful piece of jewelry. The Massai tribe uses many different colored beads like yellow, blue, black, red, orange, white, and green to make these necklaces beautiful.

  • They also used patterns like stripes, squares, zigzags, and wavy lines. Light and dark colors, cow skin, leather, beads, wire, and   seashells are used to make these necklaces. The shape of these necklaces is a circle.  

  • The Maasai Tribe is the ethnic group/tribe that created the necklace. They are located in Northern Tanzania, Kenya. They are very creative.  Lots of colors and natural items are utilized in the process of making jewelry.

  • The Maasai tribe use valuable and natural items to make these necklaces. They believed that you should use natural things to make an item. The necklace teaches about their religion, beliefs, history and civilization in the Maasai culture.
