- The san people use the egg for carrying water. People also eat the egg! They suggest making an omlet with it. When the chick is about one month old it can run as fast as an adult. Ostriches can live up to 70 years old. Also adult ostriches weigh up to 300 pounds!
- They put the feathers on cloths and things. Lots of people use them for decorations. like useing the feathers on dezines!
- These eggs, are about the size of bowling balls and also very strong. Ostriches are the largest bird in the world?
- Ostriches are among the thousands of species of birds that can be found in Africa. In the late 1800s and the early 1900s, ostrichs plumes became popular as decorations on hats and clothes. Also, one ostrich egg equals two dozen chicken eggs. Ostrich eggs are the largest bird egg in the world.
- Today most ostrich farms are found in South Africa and Israel. There are eggs that can be found in the United States. Ostriches are primarily used for their skin. This provides fine quality leather, for making gloves, shoes, and bags.
