A Shekere is an African instrument. It is made out of a gourd, a net and different kinds of things to make different noises, like beads, seeds and shells. When you use it to do different things it will make different noises. In Nigeria, Shekeres are given great respect and are connected with religion. It is a handmade instrument.

All people can use it. People use it for different things, like ceremonies. It’s called a Shekere in Nigeria. And in different countries it is ca

The Shekere can teach us that you can make different kinds of things with things that you wouldn’t even think of using to make something with. Each object that you would use on it would make a different sound.
